Error message on Communicator: Outlook Integration Error.
Error:
There was a problem connecting to Microsoft Office
Outlook. The email address used in your default Outlook profile is different
from the sign-in address used in Communicator. Change your default Outlook
Profile to match the sign-in address you are using in Communicator, and then
sign out an sign back in to Communicator.
Problem
Statement:
If user is getting Outlook integration error that means user will
lose all integration features, like IM will not save in Conversation history
folder, Calendar info will not sync, OOO information etc.
This issue is caused by the e-mail comparison check in Communicator
2007. If the primary Simple Mail Transfer (SMTP) address on the user object
does not match the one in the Microsoft Office Outlook profile, you receive the
Outlook integration error message.
Resolution:
1.
Make sure, Communicator or Lync client must be
updated.
2.
If SIP URI and SMTP are different, than change
SIP URI to look like SMTP addresses or changes it to SAM Account name.
Or do the following to
disable email comparison check.
3.
Click Start, and then
click Run.
4.
In the Open box, type
regedit, and then press ENTER.
5.
Locate and then right-click
the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator
6.
Point to New, and
then click DWORD Value.
7.
Type DisableEmailComparisonCheck
as the name of new registry entry, and then press ENTER.
8.
Double-click DisableEmailComparisonCheck,
type 1 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
9.
Exit Registry Editor.
If
you want to disable Email comparison for all user then you can use Group Policy.
1.
In Group Policy Object
Editor, expand Computer Configuration, expand Administrative
Templates, expand Microsoft Office Communicator Policy Settings, and
then click Microsoft Office Communicator Feature policies.
2.
Double-click Disable
email comparison check for Outlook PIM integration, click to select the Enabled
option, and then click OK.
